Pedigree
"Steve" is out of our first breeding with Killian, from our friends Mac and
Charlene Munro, of Gunsmoke Somalis. Killian and Ti had a beautiful litter
of kittens together, and we are delighted with the addition of their offspring
into our breeding program. Steve earned his call name as he was a "great
escape artist" as a kitten, and we started calling him Steve McQueen (from
the movie "The Great Escape"). The name stuck, long before he had a registered
name... he earned his registered name by stealing our hearts, and convincing
us that he needed to stay here with us, rather than move to another home.
We're delighted that he convinced us of that, as he just became our very first
"one show" grand champion!
With the show season just completed, Steve has become a double
regional winner in the same season. He is the northwest region's 18th best
kitten, and 21st best adult, as well as the best Somali in our region. He is
also the best ruddy Somali nationally, and the third best of breed Somali
overall, for the 2002-03 show season.
Steve produced many beautiful kittens for us, and was a very important part
of our breeding program. He's now neutered, and living a very spoiled life as
the "king" of our bedroom, with all the girls!
