Pedigree
Timer is a repeat breeding of a boy we showed in 2009-10 (big brother "TC"), that had
decided being a show cat just wasn't his style. Timer is also a "solo" kitten, and we
decided that this time around, maybe leaving him with an over-protective mother who had
no other kittens to fuss over just wasn't the best idea. So... once he got the hang of
solid foods, mom Promise was spayed and moved to a pet home.
We approached Timer's first show with quite a bit of trepidation, given what big
brother TC's attitude had been in the show hall - but he surprised us, and acted like any
other "first time" show kitten, thank goodness! He wasn't shown a lot as a kitten, but
after the first of the year when he had earned his GC title, he quickly became a very
stunning young adult, who decided that show halls were a very fun place to be!
Timer and I traveled quite a bit those last few months of the show season, and in a
short four month career as a GC, Timer managed to become CFA's best Somali in the country,
for 2010-11! He was also the 10th best cat in the northwest region, without even reaching
100 rings. He was truly a delight to show, and many judges remarked that he was "born to be
a show cat!" What a turn-around from big brother... Timer is one of those cats that
truly "takes my breath away", as his breeder/owner. Timer is also the cat that earned
Tamarakatz the distinction of being the first Somali cattery to ever earn three "BW" titles,
for the national best of breed Somali!
